I really enjoyed Abraham's first two Dagger and Coin novels so I had high hopes for this book, but it fell a bit short of expectations. The first two-thirds was engaging, but the last third fell flat. During the last third I lost interest in the characters and the outcome of their scheming. The magic was also poorly explained.
I am neutral on this book, but will check out the rest of the series to see if he finds his groove.
