Below you can see my new Samsung washer and dryer set. They fit pretty well in the recess in the mud room. I got them from Sears for a pretty decent price and the dudes who set them up did an efficient job.
I was worried that they wouldn't fit with the door, but as you can see from the picture below, there is about an inch or two of clearance as the door opens. I'd rather have more, but it'll work.

you got the front loading kind! nice.
Yeah, they're the most energy and water efficient and that was my primary goal. They're expensive, but the washer is energy star so I'll get 30% back with my taxes next year. Sweet.
The energy guide attached the washer said I'll probably only use between $8 and $16 per year on electricity related to the washer. That is pretty sweet.
Wow. I had no idea it saved that much! That's the kind that I eventually want to get but I don't believe I'll need to replace mine anytime soon. Eventually!
Yeah, let your current set die before replacing them though you can get 30% of the money spent on the washer back this year with the energy tax credit. You're an accountant so I'm sure you already knew that.
They're a little on the pricey side and you need to keep the washer door open after it's done to let the water evaporate. If you don't, you can get mold. A lot of the newer models have a sanitize cycle which heats water up to 155 F. I guess that temperature is high enough to kill the creepy-crawlies.
They look smick!
My Australian is a little rusty, but I'll take "smick" as a compliment.
