New travel plans

My friend no longer has time for me to visit LA and SD because she needs to concentrate on her dissertation. I'm driving down to Santa Barbara later this summer, but I wanted to go on another road trip. I set up a new poll so that you can help me decide. One option is to drive to Phoenix because my cousin lives there, but it's 720 miles away and Phoenix is wicked hot during the summer. Another option is to drive to LA/SD anyhow. I can also drive elsewhere in CA or maybe to another state. I could drive up to OR to see my family, but I would prefer to go somewhere new or somewhere that I haven't seen in a while. No, not Disneyland. That's definitely not for me.
