I am now a homeowner.

I finally closed on my house this afternoon. Now I can do whatever I want with the property and now I don't need to posse up a lot of cash. Of course, that cash is now gone, but now I can work towards building equity rather than just making a landlord rich.

Here is a picture of me at the end of closing holding a copy of the deed to the property. You'll notice a huge pile of papers on the table. I signed or initialed nearly every one.

Yeah, I'm more relieved than excited at this point, but I think I'll get excited as the summer goes on.

Thanks. It feels good to own my own place, but I feel a little empty since I spent a lot of time and effort before closing.

Now I just need to save my money for home improvements.
